Where: Near Lake Ahquabi State Park This interpretive self-guided tree tour will acquaint you with several of the non-native, unusual or rare trees that live in Buxton Park Arboretum.
Where: Buxton Park Iowa's newest state park underwent an "extreme makeover" to create a new venue of family fun in the outdoors from what was once a coal mine site.
Where: 13084 Elkhorn Street, 6 miles north of Indianola on Hwy 65/69 Both stunning and serene, Buxton Park is nestled in the center of Indianola adjacent to Simpson College. Its formal gardens, ornamental fountain and gazebo offer a spectacular setting for intimate gatherings, photo sessions or a simple stroll in the park. Also home to an arboretum, the park offers a self-guided interpretive tree tour pamphlet at the display case near the gazebo.

This 770 acre park with campground offers picnicking, fishing (handicap accessible), boat ramps and unsupervised swimming at a large sandy beach. Where: North G Street & West Euclid Avenue A By-Reservation Tea Room nestled on a picturesque farm in the hills of southern Iowa, just a short drive from Indianola. It offers picnicking, a shelter with tables and grill that can be reserved, modern restrooms, playgrounds, basketball, 18 hole championship level disc golf course, hiking trails, horseshoe courts, adult and youth softball complexes, and a campground (first-come, first-served for self-contained vehicles only).

The Heritage Village has a log cabin, Mt. Hope Country School, Pioneer Church, a Quaker South River Meeting House, George Washington Carver Museum, Large Machinery Building and General Store. The Library has family histories; old school records; obituaries; photos; court records; information about Warren County communities, churches, and organizations; and original newspapers.
